Iran claims Qatar holds three downed pilots; Qatar denies it

Iran's claim that Qatar is detaining three of its pilots — shot down near a Qatari military base on 2 March — is now the sharpest open dispute in the conflict. Qatar flatly denies it.

Iran Conflict

  • Iran–Qatar pilot dispute corroborated: Qatar's denial and Iran's counter-claim now reported by 3 outlets, up from 1. The core facts — whether Qatar holds Javad Salehi, Abdul Majid Dashtian, and Imran Behroshian, and whether a fourth pilot, Majid Kazemi, was killed in the same operation — remain contested.
  • Caroline Bezengi tanker spill: A new, single-outlet assertion puts the vessel's cargo at 800,000–1,000,000 barrels of Russian crude. Whether oil has reached the Omani shore and the extent of ecological damage are now contested across multiple outlets.
  • Strait of Hormuz shipping: Whether crude-oil transits have dropped to ~4 ships per day (a claimed wartime low), and casualty figures from attacks on ADNOC vessels, are now disputed.
  • USS Abraham Lincoln mental health crisis: Now reported by 4 outlets, up from 2 — sailors attempting to jump overboard during a deployment exceeding 250 consecutive days at sea.

Ebola Bundibugyo Outbreak: DRC & Global Response

  • Case count rises: 4 outlets now report confirmed DRC cases at 4,945, with 101 new cases in the prior 24 hours. Uncontested.
  • Ituri province's share of total cases (claimed: 3,400+ of 4,660+) and the total death toll (claimed: 2,184) are now contested.

US-Saudi Nuclear Deal & Middle East Arms Race

  • Contradictory claims about the Strait of Hormuz are now openly disputed: Trump asserted the U.S. Navy controls the strait and has mine-swept it entirely; a separate claim holds Iran is currently blocking ships lacking its approval. Both contested, neither corroborated.

Trump Election Security & Democratic Integrity Debate

  • AG Blanche's Anti-Weaponization Fund position corroborated: Now reported by 3 outlets, up from 1 — Blanche said the fund will not be revived but left open congressional action and alternative compensation mechanisms.
  • Two contested, partially contradictory assertions from Blanche's testimony: that he will act "with integrity" and "without fear or favor" (2 outlets), and that he did not commit to acting independently of Trump (1 outlet).
